JOHN PEAVEY - enlisted in Newington, NH, in June, 1775. Served as a pvt.

under Capt's. Shackford, Salter, and Parsons. Continued in service until early in

Sept, 1777. He enlisted (2nd)Sept 17, 1777, served 3 months as Cpl. in Capt.

Rawlings Co., Col. Drake's NH regiment, and was present at the surrender of

Burgoyne. The dob/pob of John Peavey were not given, nor were the names of

his parents. He was allowed pension on his application executed Sept 17, 1832,

at which time he was aged 76 years and living in Strafford, NH where he had

lived since the revolution. The papers on file in this claim contain no

reference to the family of the soldier, John Peavey.(NARA M804, Roll# 1899)
