WINTHROP PEAVEY/PEAVY- enlisted Feb 1781 at Dover, NH for 3 years in the

Co. commanded by Capt. Fogg, and Regmt.Col. George Reed, 2nd Regmt. NH line.

Took final and honorable discharge at West Point June 1783."My occupation

is that of farmer; but having been sick for 16 years, I'am unable to labor but little,

my family residing with me consists of five persons, with myself, my wife Rachel,

aged 35 years, my son William aged 12 years, my daughter Betsy, aged 7 years,

and son Joseph aged 21 months." Dated 24 May 1820. (Research note: Rachel

remarried and became "Rachel Decker Frederick. Pension papers indicate

Winthrop disappeared, and subsequent clues point to the possibility

that he may have been murdered by a landlord.NARA M804, Roll# 1899)
